“How do I self-publish?”

As someone who’s published two books on her own, you’d think I’d be some kind of self-publishing expert, right? She’s done it twice—she clearly knows what she’s doing.

Babes, I’m still learning new things about publishing every week. And believe it or not, every step of the process was more difficult with my second book. I foolishly thought it would be easier and everything would fall into place, but it turns out, self-publishing is always hard.

Having said that, I have learned a TON along the way. Some of that was learned by trial and error, and some of that came from knowledge shared by fellow indie authors. So that’s why I’ve decide to start a blog about self-publishing. Am I an expert? No. But do I have SOME insight to share that can save you some time & headaches? You betcha.

I recently posted on Threads about how I’m no longer able to answer the question, “How do I self-publish?” It might sound like I’m gate-keeping, but let me explain. I LOVE answering questions in my DMs about specific parts of the self-pub process. Need to know where to purchase an ISBN? I’ll tell you. Want to know what to bring toa book signing? I’ll make you a list.

The question, “How do I self-publish?” is simply too broad, and it’s one I receive often. I love pointing people toward the KDP website, because they have a tutorial for just about everything.

But if you’re seeking self-publishing advice with a personal touch, stick around. In this self-publishing blog for authors, I’ll dive into specific topics, sharing my personal experiences with each step along the way!
