AMA: Owen from Lesson Learned

Some of my readers had the opportunity to ask Owen Gardner some questions. (Who cares if he’s fictional?) Here are his answers. Enjoy!

What’s your go-to coffee order?

Plain ol’ basic drip coffee with cream and sugar. Sometimes iced.

What’s your ideal date night with Sarah?

We love staying in and cooking together, and she usually talks me into watching the most gruesome true crime documentaries she can find.

Do you remember any of your bachelor party?

Well, the whole night is kind of a blur, and I’m doing my best to pretend I don’t remember certain… incidents. I’m just glad my watch is ok.

What do you think about Mason ending up with Kendall?

I’m really glad they’re both happy. They seem like the perfect fit.

What was the moment you realized you were in love with Sarah?

While it’s hard to pinpoint a specific moment because falling in love with Sarah sort of happened gradually and without my even noticing, there is one day that sticks out in my mind. It was the last day of school our first year teaching together, and we organized a Field Day for all the students on the playground. They somehow talked her into playing freeze tag with them, and I just remember thinking it was cute how seriously she took the game. And when she yanked me onto the field to join them, I didn’t want her to let go.

What’s next for SFTW?

I’ve been asked to participate in a panel at the upcoming Woodvale Comic Con, and I’m really looking forward to that. I guess I’m somewhat of a local celebrity.

How’s married life?

Married life is amazing! I feel incredibly lucky to have Sarah by my side. Every day brings new challenges, of course, but I know we’ll get through anything together.

Will you ever get a second tattoo?

Who said I only had one?

Does Mason play the TTPD album at work?

Oh yeah! We’ve both been jamming out to it while we work. At first we just listened to it to impress Sarah & Kendall with our knowledge of the lyrics, but now we’re addicted. Mason’s got some good moves to “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.”

Favorite position?

A gentleman never tells. But it does involve my podcast desk. I’ve upgraded to a less wobbly one, and it CAN support the weight of two people. Not that I would know…
